ForsaTEK 2025 showcase fast-growing technology in aviation

ForsaTEK 2025 opened on June 23, focusing on how AI, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) would reshape aviation.

ForsaTEK is an annual flagship innovation and technology forum organised by the Emirates Group. The event aimed to bring in cutting-edge technology partnerships and thought-provoking discussions from different aspects, including early-stage research, prototyping, proof-of-concept trials, and fully launched initiatives.

The event was opened by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, accompanied by the UAE Minister of Education, Sarah Al Amiri, and a group of senior Emirates Group executives.

The theme of the event this year was how AI, robotics and Internet of Things (IoT) will reshape aviation. The forum featured more than 40 in-house and partner showcases.

The event featured three main sections: fully launched initiatives, the Trial Zone, and the Pitch Zone, showcasing new technology development in aviation.

There are several fully launched initiatives showcased in the event, including Transguard and Emirates Group Security’s advanced autonomous, dnata Cargo’s autonomous drone system for inventory validation, and Emirates Airport Services’ AI-enabled aircraft turnaround analysis and resource optimisation system.

The Trial Zone, on the other hand, showcased multiple accessibility initiatives, including Glidance’s self-guided mobility aid for the visually impaired, JeffCAN’s immersive media chair with blending sensory design and technology for neurodiverse travellers, and the Airbus Accessible and Inclusive cabin.

In a more conceptual aspect, the pitch zone included 13 start-ups to demonstrate ideas to the VIP panel, investors, and representatives from the tech industry.

“Building on the success of the first two editions, ForsaTEK 2025 underpins the Emirates Group’s continued commitment to anchoring the next wave of innovations within our business, scaling up existing innovations, supporting startups, and creating a powerful testbed of partnerships that introduce fresh solutions and propel our digital future forward. We hope all our teams and partners leave the event feeling inspired by tomorrow’s possibilities and determined to weave innovation, both big and small, into their everyday work lives.”
