A NSW Police student has been charged after crashing into a boom gate at the force’s academy base while allegedly drunk.
Security officers at the academy in Goulburn were alerted to the damage at the front entrance of the NSW Police academy about 12.15am on Saturday.
They found a car parked on the side of McDermott Dr, with a man in the driver’s seat.
The 33-year-old police student undertook a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he did a second breath test — which returned an alleged reading of 0.108.
The man was issued field court attendance notice for drive with middle range PCA.
