You know that feeling when you’re so excited for something, you’ll do anything to make sure you’re at your best? That’s exactly what Sir Rod Stewart is doing! He’s canceled a bunch of US gigs to recover from the flu and be in top shape for his legendary Glastonbury set.
The 80-year-old rock star, who hasn’t graced the Somerset festival stage since 2002, is set to take on the coveted Sunday teatime slot on June 29th. He’s been buzzing about it, telling everyone he’s “proud, ready, and more than able to pleasure and titillate” his fans at Glastonbury.
He even admitted to wanting to squeeze in a few extra minutes on stage, despite the fact that he’ll be performing for an hour and a quarter with his former Faces bandmate, Ronnie Wood. Can you imagine that? Two legends sharing the stage, what a show it’s going to be!
But before he can rock Glastonbury, Stewart has to get healthy. He’s already canceled four shows in Las Vegas and Stateline, Nevada, and will reschedule two more in California.
Even though he’s planning on scaling back his touring in the future, Stewart is clearly still passionate about performing. He’s earned his place as a Glastonbury legend, and he’s going to deliver a set that’ll have everyone talking.
This is going to be one for the books, folks. Mark your calendars and get ready for a truly unforgettable performance!
